The New Jersey Cynder is an adult minor-league football team and a proud member of the Big East Football Federation (www.bneff.org). We are set to kick-off our 9th season in 2010 and we want you to be a part of the action! The New Jersey Cynder are a Non-profit entity, under the umbrella of the Cynder Youth Foundation, Inc. and are a Jersey based community organization, whose mission is to bridge the gap between youth and young adulthood by playing top quality football and positively developing our neighborhoods and communities in the surrounding cities, counties and tri-state area. To show our commitment to the community, the Cynder will participate in several charity events throughout the year, which will promote mentoring, reading, building self-esteem and drug awareness. We will also look to form an alliance with secondary schools to manage a scholarship program for local individuals seeking a college degree.

We are writing this letter to encourage you to participate in this worthwhile community enrichment program. Our season will consist of a few scrimmages and pre-season games, five regular season home games and five regular season away games. The regular season will commence on August 21st. Our home games will be played at West Side Park in Newark. The 2010 schedule will be up in the spring of 2010 on our official site at www.jerseycynder.com. The Cynder will look to provide quality and affordable entertainment for the entire community. It costs about $35,000 to start and maintain a minor-league football franchise each season. The costs include uniforms, travel expenses, insurance, BEFF League franchise fees, and various other administrative fees. Our staff consists of volunteer coaching staff, high school and college interns in the surrounding areas that want to make a difference in their communities. The players provide approximately 25% of the costs and the remainder is funded through sponsorships, fundraising events and donations.

As you can see, this program can only happen with the support of local businesses and organizations such as yourself and others in the community.
