The New Jersey Cynder will be
taking the field with the Jersey City Police
Athletic League and one of Newark's ward teams,
the Newark Titans in 3-day mini-camp of football,
fundamentals and overall love of the game.
It was announced earlier in
June by team owner, Jermaine Sanders on a taping
with Jersey City's Comcast. "I met with the
Director and coaches of both programs and we have
agreed on several dates in August and September,
in having positional teachings and obstacle
courses for them to engage and really take away a
lot from."
At the end of the clinic, the
two area teams will square off in a 7 on 7
match-up and apply some of the teachings learned
from the 3-day clinic. "I am very excited about
this", says Director Frank Williams, who doubles
as a Detective in the JC Police Department. "The
kids will get some work in on their mechanics and
also see some competition outside of our area."
The Cynder will also honor
the JCPAL's junior division, in bringing a
championship home in 2007, in the season home
opener at half-time. "We hope to bring one home
too this year", an excited Coach Anderson of the
Cynder. "But for the most part, its all about the
kids first."
