Newark, New Jersey- The New Jersey Cynder, Minor-League football team, under the umbrella of the Cynder Youth Foundation, a non-profit organization and charter members of the BNEFF GROUP, Inc/Big East Football Federation are conducting an open workout session for prospective players 18 and over, Saturday, May 8th @ the Essex County Park, Newark, NJ. Pre-registration is required by visiting the official website at www.jerseycynder.com. Check-in time is 8am and workout session starts 9am sharp.
Sanders, who presides over the team, who are also in their 9th season, along with several coaches are looking to improve on a better season, by assembling a better crop of players from the local Newark, Essex County and surrounding areas.
“We’re definitely looking to improve from last season,” says Sanders. “We have a lot of work to get ready for this season and the time is now. Last season, the numbers were short at times for games, we took some blowouts, but we kept our composure and the loyal ones stayed afloat. The coaching staff and administration are looking optimistic of the kind of caliber of players coming aboard.”
This year’s workout sessions will be conducted a little differently. Coach Rha Watson had this to say: We do our normal routines of observing them in the regulars of the shuttle run, 40 yd times, etc., but we want to see what their stamina is like and then go into the one-on-one skill drills session. This will give us a better indication of the players who coachable, reliable and have that fire to win.”
Appropriate workout gear, footwear and identification will be necessary upon checking in. The cost of the workout session is a one-time, non-refundable fee of $35.00, money order or cash.
