Community Relations
The Community Relations department of the Jersey Cynder takes great interest in the community in which it is located. The organization itself supports the various charitable causes and events throughout the surrounding area and counties, we hope to display our sensitive side to making our community a better place for everyone and most importantly, our children. The Cynder realize the responsibility in showing great kindness and sincerity to those that are l
ess fortunate. That's the whole purpose of formulating such a partnership with our affiliate programs that are recognized locally, regionally and nationally. Whether it's on the field or off the field, the Cynder takes tremendous pride in what we do for the importance of the children and the community. Our goal is set for a championship on the field, but our most important championship is making a difference in the lives of others.
AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY- The Jersey Cynder and the American Cancer Society have teamed up this year to create a stronger presents in the community. The annual awareness campaign for the 2005 Relay for Life in Newark on July 9th-10th and the Relay for Life in Jersey City on June 11th June 12th will have an overnight celebration of hope, progress and answers. In honor of the 8.5 million Americans who have survived cancer, teams of friends, families and co-workers raise funds to support the continued fight against the disease. You can walk or run. This is a worthy cause and I will be there, says Cynder owner Jermaine Sanders. I lost my grandfather 10 years ago to Prostate cancer and almost lost my brother to this deadly disease. The Cynder will have a strong presence their. To find out how you can help, please call Ms. Liz Ackalitis for further information or go to www.cancer.org.
Brothers Talk and Sister to Sister Talk- The American Cancer Society sponsors this program to create awareness in the African-American and Hispanic communities facing breast cancer and prostate cancer. I lost my grandfather to this and now my uncles have it, now its time to take an even greater look, says Sanders. I will be taking a course or two to learn more about it and to help others become aware as well. To find out more on how you can help, contact Mrs. Natasha Coleman, Senior Director of Cancer Control- Eastern Division at 908-354-7373x206.

The Jersey Cynder are proud to announce its newly created Advisory Board called the C.A.A.B or Community Action Advisory Board.
Our community action advisory board was formulated in an effort to become the best community and fan friendly team in the NY/NJ region. It was designed to help create awareness in the community while further expanding our franchise in the surrounding communities, counties and the east region through reciprocal feedback, critiques and support within the area. The board will consist of 20-30 members of local businesses, charitable organizations, community leaders and season ticket holders.
Starting April 2005, the CAAB will meet once a month to share ideas, suggestions and feedback to ensure we reach our goals. Members of the board are asked to attend all meetings. Stay tuned for date and time.
Any business leader, organization/not for profit leaders, community leaders, church leaders, etc., that would like to be apart of the CAAB program, please call Team Owner, Jermaine Sanders or email your resume and/or letter of interest to:
